12_12_7As the death toll from typhoon Bopha passed 500 (with more than 400 missing), Kumi Naidoo of Greenpeace led protestors in a call and response on the final day of the COP18 U.N climate change summit:
If not now, when?
If not here, where?
If not us, who?
Nature does not negotiate.
Stop playing political poker with the planet.
Do not destroy our children and grandchildren’s future.
And on finance
They say they don’t have money.

If you could have found trillions of dollars to bail out the banks
Why can’t a country find $6o billion to bail out the poor and bail out the climate and bail out the planet?
