“Because success is such a weasel word anyway, it’s such a horribly American word, and it’s such a vamp and, I think it’s a death trap.” — Father Daniel Berrigan
The legendary antiwar priest died on Saturday, just short of his 95th birthday. Berrigan was a poet, pacifist, educator, social activist, playwright and lifelong resister to what he called “American military imperialism.”
The spirit walks on.
Art based on photo of Berrigan following an arrest circa 1968.
